Course objectives
Immediate implant placement has the advantage of reducing the number of surgical interventions and may allow for immediate provisionalization giving patients the possibility of wearing a fixed restoration at the end of surgery. This type of intervention has been related to greater esthetic implant complications and failures however with the better understanding of the biology of tooth extraction and the aid of digital tools this procedure has become more predictable.
The objective of the course is to introduce clinicians to this technique by reviewing its rationale, indications, and the technical aspects related to the surgical execution, soft tissue grafting and provisionalization.
Finally, a live surgery will be performed to integrate the theoretical aspects discussed followed by a hands-on part where participants will be able to practice in models and in pork jaws.
